As a Youth Security Officer member and part of the onboard security team, you will report directly
to the SSO, who is answerable to the Staff Captain. You will be assigned security coverage,
supervision and responsibility for enforcing applicable safety rules and regulations, as they pertain
to juvenile passengers. Although you officially report to the SSO, you will also be required to liaise
with the Youth and Teen Staff to ensure you are familiar with the daily programs and activities for
teenage passengers. For situations arising with adult passengers, your duty is to immediately contact the SSO and or a member of the Ship’s Security Staff for assistance.
The Youth Security Officer will be charged with enforcing onboard security policies and regulations in general and as they pertain to our younger passengers specifically. Situations with adult passengers should be immediatelyreferred to the SSO and onboard Ship’s Security Staff. You were hired for your skills atunderstanding and communicating with younger and teen passengers. Alcohol and Gambling Policy
Passengers underage are not permitted to purchase or consume alcohol or participate in gaming
onboard. Should you suspect underage passengers of consuming alcohol in any area of the ship,
but especially in the nightclubs, pool bars, and dining areas, you are to challenge the individuals to
produce proof of age and photo ID. You can also use the Cruise Card to verify this against
shipboard passport for proof of age. Immediate notification is to be made to the SSO and Staff
Captain if underage individuals are violating this policy. Minor passengers are only permitted to transit the Casino. Should you encounter underage passengers loitering in the Casino area, please request of them and/or their parents that they immediately depart the area.
Possession of Weapons, Illegal Substances, or Other Prohibited Items-
All weapons, illegal substances, and prohibited items (Ship Security Plan Refers) are to be
immediately confiscated and turned over to the SSO for secure storage until handover to the
appropriate authorities. Depending on the seriousness of the offense, the offender(s) may be
disembarked at the next port of call at the discretion of the Captain. All such incidents are to be
documented.
Proper Public Behavior
Passengers of any age are not permitted to indulge in behavior that endangers the safety of other
passengers or crew, and which violates Local and International Law, and jeopardizes the safe
operation of the vessel. This includes but is not limited to the following:

For safety reasons, underage passengers should not be permitted to congregate in Hotel areas or
passageways for extended periods of time. These areas must have unrestricted freedom of
movement. Should underage passengers be encountered grouping in the passageways onboard,
they should be directed to proceed to authorized teen areas or common areas unless they are
actually transiting to/from their cabin or common area. Youth Security Staff on patrol should direct
any minor individuals discovered in these areas to other authorized venues.
Physical or excessive verbal abuse is not to be tolerated regardless of the age of the passenger.
All complaints are to be fully investigated and documented.
