Utility Cleaner Marella

The Utility Cleaner is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance the galleys on a daily basis, following the cleaning guidelines setby Onboard Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Operational


• Handle all cleaning materials, chemicals and machinery necessary for the daily operation, in a safe and responsible manner.


• Clean and maintain galley floors, walls, machinery and tools after every service, with emphasis on the health and safety of all staff.


• Participate in all assigned training programs in order to develop skills with a view for future
development and potential promotion.


• Work with cleaning machinery as assigned by the shipboard management.


• Cross train on all cleaning machinery.


• Perform all duties according to Shipsan, the European sanitation program, and the United States Public Health rules and regulations.


• Assist with stores and provision loading as directed.


• Monitor the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of all equipment and ship property used in the execution of duties.


• Ensure use of authorized-only chemicals


• Attend departmental meetings and trainings as instructed

.
• Ensure that personal appearance, uniform and personal hygiene are in accordance with company
regulations.


• Maintain personal hygiene and appearance according to company standards:


− Shower before the commencement of each shift.
− Hair must be well-groomed and above the collar.
− Fingernails must be short and clean.
− Must be clean shaven at the beginning of each shift.



Training & Development


• Attend all meetings, training activities or classes related to assigned position as required.


Safety Responsibilities


• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for all guests and crew members.


• Follow proper procedures and instructions at all times to prevent damage of any kind to ship or company property.


• Know and comply with Shipsan, the European sanitation program, and United States Public Health
Rules and Regulations pertaining to assigned working area.


• Participate in safety drills as required.


• Comply with Marella Cruises’ Safety and Pollution Prevention Program


• Comply with Marella Cruises’ Operating Procedures Resources.

Minimum experience and qualification requirements for position:
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with the senior management
  • Experience and/or training in the hospitality field considered a plus

Contract length: 8months

Salary: 629$
