Lifeguards are responsible for the overall water safety of every Guest and Team Member. Therefore, lifeguards must enforce safety rules and use preventative lifeguarding techniques in order to maintain a safe environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lifeguard’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Smile and attend to the needs of resort guests.
Lifeguards are assigned a zone of protection and ensure guest safety.
Provide instructions to riders and swimmers.
Enforce general resort, ride, and safety rules.
Wipe down tables and place umbrellas up or down as required.
Hose down after the operating day.
Pick up trash.
Contribute to resort clean up, including trash pickup, pressure washing, etc.
Dispatch guests on the rides and assure the correct use of the slides by guests.
Perform job function within all the resort policies, standards and procedures as noted in the Team Member Handbook/Orientation Pack and Lifeguard Handbook.
Meet International Lifeguard Training Program requirements for waterfront, special facilities or shallow water lifeguard license.
Stand for long periods of time.
Perform activities that require flexibility.
Tolerate cold and hot weather, plus cold water.
Lift heavy persons on a backboard.
Climb stairs on ride towers.
Physical exertion to perform rescues.
Carry heavy objects such as hoses, tables, and signs.
Attend (4) hours of In-service Training per month.
Participate in ILTP audit program.
Perform any and all tasks as assigned by your supervisors necessary for the operation of the park.
Other assigned duties necessitated by operational demand.
