Hotel Inventory Controller Norwegian Cruise Line

• To ensure that necessary consumables for the operation are always on board, whilst ensuring that stock levels are kept to a reasonable level and orders are placed in a timely manner whilst adhering to the loading schedule to avoid unnecessary logistic costs.
• The HIC ensures a smooth distribution and ensures that correct expenditures are accounted for in the inventory system, which is then audited by Chief Purser or 1st Purser.

• Guest Experience
o Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ wellbeing at all times;
• Operational and Administrative
o Responsible for receiving, distributing and storing all products ;
o Reports costs of inventory taken by concessionaires to Chief Purser / Guest Services Manager for charging of items
o Ensures that storerooms are kept in a clean, organized and presentable state at all times;
o Assists with passport handout to guests and crew
o Assists Crew Purser or 2nd Purser with immigration documents when required
o Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor.
• Finance
o Responsible for requisitioning, ordering, issuing and maintaining accurate inventory of all hotel stock items;
o Maintains accurate stock levels in the MXP inventory system at all times;
o Closes the inventory period in the MXP inventory system and prepares respective inventory reports for Hotel,
o Monitors and maintains per cruise budget and year to date budget set up by the shore side office;
o Conducts cycle counts twice a month as directed by shoreside offices;
• Training and Development
o Promotes and Participates in Company’s Service Training Program
o Incorporates Service standards of behavior in daily work
• Social
o Maintains positive relationships with colleagues
o Respects the privacy and rights of colleagues
o Promotes cooperation and teamwork
• Safety
o Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command;
o Complies with company safety and pollution prevention regulations;
o Is coherent with all duties listed in SMS for this position.




Minimum experience and qualification requirements for position:
  • • Systems o MS Office o Fidelio Cruise o MXP Inventory Management
  • • Ship’s experience required;
  • • Understanding of the highest level of service
  • • Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible;
  • • Ability to work in an international environment;

Contract length: 20 weeks on / 8 months off
